Another Job Opportunity - Gone!

Well, I spent last year working with an autistic kindergartener and was fortunate enough to be placed in a WONDERFUL teacher's classroom! I looked at this past year as the methods class I wish I would have had in college! Seriously!! I learned so much this past year and I will be a much better teacher SOME DAY because of it.

On to the bad news....due to some family health problems, a first grade teacher in my district decided to retire. I felt like maybe God was working out my dream job for me and had about two minutes to be excited. Then, I learned that a fourth grade teacher in the district was interested in moving down to 1st. To make a long story short, 4th grade teacher got the 1st grade job and my license is only PreK to 3rd, so I'm out a teaching job opportunity :-((

I really don't know what I'll do now. There are no teaching jobs (that I am qualified for) in a 100 mile radius! Maybe I should move. Really depressed now!

Long time no blogging!

My laptop had some issues and had to go to the fix-it shop for a while. I'm glad it's back now (hard telling how many giveaways I have missed!).

I have one more week of freedom before school starts and I go back to my aide position. I keep telling myself everything will be fine and if this is where the Good Lord wants me, then I'm happy to be here. However, sometimes I do get a little depressed and wonder if I didn't just waste 2 years toward retirement by going back to school. I think I'd feel a little more positive if I had some clue what I will be doing this year, but alas, I won't know that until our first inservice day on August 22!

I think I need to change my blog title to Ready to Blog About Giveaways!

Since I apparently will not be teaching this year and will instead be back in my aide's position, I need to find as many thrifty activities as I can (my salary is not comparable to a teacher's!), but I love to find useful things to help in the classroom. Hence, I keep entering these giveaways! This one would be GREAT because I have done a lot of research on my own about the CCSS and have developed my own grade book for 1st grade based on the CCSS. Another new blog (to me!) and another GREAT giveaway!

I am so thankful for lazy days to spend on my computer stalking reading so many wonderful blogs and getting so many great ideas to use IF I ever get a teaching job!
